Animal Support, cofounded by Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi, are proud to support the Magic Bullet Fund’s mission, to provide financial assistance to owners of dogs with cancer who cannot afford medical treatment fees.

Dogs get cancer just like humans. In fact, 8-10,000 dogs are diagnosed with cancer every day. To help combat this sad statistic, Animal Support and co-founders Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi are new supporters of the Magic Bullet Fund, a charity that helps families pay for potentially life-saving treatments for their dogs with cancer. Since 2005, the Magic Bullet Fund has provided financial assistance to 300 families who were unable to afford their dog’s cancer treatments.
“Dogs quickly become important members of a family and it is absolutely heartbreaking to see them suffer with such a painful, potentially fatal disease as cancer,” says Dr. Michael Omidi, cofounder of Animal Support. “Magic Bullet helps families who do not have the means to get their pets the life-saving treatment they need. We admire the work of Laurie Kaplan and the Magic Bullet Fund and we provide this grant to help them achieve their noble goals.”
The Magic Bullet Fund (http://www.themagicbulletfund.org) was founded by Laurie Kaplan after her own dog, named Bullet, was diagnosed with a terminal cancer, lymphoma. Laurie could afford to pay for treatments but wanted to do something to help other dog owners who could not. After his treatments, Bullet’s cancer went into remission for four-plus years, until he passed away at the age of 14. As a long-time medical animal writer, Kaplan wrote the book “Help Your Dog Fight Cancer,” to help others care for their dogs with cancer.
